ABOUT THE AUTHOR
James Gilchrist is like a battle-scarred country singer, who still believes in love Collingwood. He’s the husband of a sports atheist who doesn’t understand him, and the father of three highly energetic footy fans (ages 18, 16, and 14) and one highly energetic future footy fan (age 2). He has also been at various times a playwright, author, historian, philosopher, Viking expert, and sadomasochist.
He does his best writing in long, unreciprocated messages to his friends, usually defending the sometimes indefensible Pies, but other times posturing as James Bond while on the various travels his wife drags him along for. 007 is one of two alter egos he pretentiously adopts: the other being Disco Jim, who most frequently appears after six drinks at a wedding, or on the rare occasions Collingwood wins a Grand Final!
